1 Kennismaking
Het gaat er niet alleen om wat ik ontwerp, maar ook voor wie ik ontwerp. Om tot de essentie van de vraagstelling te komen begint elk project, groot of klein, met een persoonlijke kennismaking. It's not only about what I design, but also for whom I design. To get to the essence of the question, every project, big or small, begins with a personal introduction.
2 Onderzoek
Ik maak niet alleen kennis met jou, maar ook met de locatie. Aan de start van het project doe ik uitgebreid onderzoek om de mogelijkheden en het verhaal van de plek in kaart te brengen. Deze vormen (letterlijk) het fundament voor het ontwerp. I am not only getting acquainted with you, but also with the location. At the start of the project I investigate the possibilities and the story of the place. These (literally) form the foundation for the design.
3 COncept
De conceptfase bestaat uit de ruimtelijke studie naar het samenbrengen van de vorige twee punten. In combinatie met mijn creatieve expertise ontstaat een basaal maar goed doordacht concept. The concept phase consists of a spatial study to bring the previous two points together. Combined with my creative expertise, an intrinsic but well-thought-out concept emerges.
4 Uitwerking
Ik vertaal het concept in de lagen van sfeer, comfort, duurzaamheid en techniek. Met het definitieve ontwerp ontstaat een consistent plan, welke praktisch uitvoerbaar is en op elk schaalniveau klopt. I translate the concept into the layers of ambiance, comfort, sustainability and mechanics. The final design makes up a consistent plan which is practically feasible and works at every scale.
5 realisatie
Naast de technische uitwerking van het ontwerp blijf ik betrokken bij de uitvoering. Zo bewaak ik niet alleen de kwaliteit maar ook de essentie van het concept. Het interieurontwerp word gebouwd zoals bedoelt is. Besides the technical elaboration of the design, I remain involved during realisation. In this way I can both safeguard the quality as well as the essence of the initial concept. The project will be built as intended.
