Compendium is een sculpturale kandelaar, bestaande uit een bundel van tien aluminium buizen. Kaarsen kunnen vrij in de openingen worden geplaatst, waardoor het object telkens een andere compositie aanneemt. In contrast met het lichte gewicht van het aluminium, verplaatsen stalen kogels aan de onderzijde het zwaartepunt subtiel naar beneden: een technisch gebaar dat stabiliteit brengt en de illusie wekt dat het geheel loskomt van het oppervlak. Compendium is a sculptural candle holder composed of a bundle of ten aluminium tubes. Candles can be placed freely within the openings, allowing the object to take on a different composition each time. In contrast to the lightness of aluminium, steel spheres at the base subtly shift the object’s centre of gravity downward: a technical gesture that provides stability while creating the illusion that the whole piece hovers just above the surface.
